You see flowers in these weeds.

I'm Collin and I'm a 20 year old guy. I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This blog is my past my present and my future. This blog is my remedy. r
Love me?

This is the story of how I met Jessica Nicole. That’s her, on the left! Obviously… Okay the story beings two years ago in 2008 around July. I was 16 at the time. The Church I was apart of was called Mountain Christian Church heads to a youth convention every year called CIY (Christ in Youth). This was my first year and I have to say I was extremely excited. CIY was held in Durango Colorado at Fort Lewis College.
Skipping all the boring stuff, me and my friend Mike Humphries were on top of the world! There were cute girls as far as the eye could see! Seriously, you would not believe it. Me and Mike spat (spitted?) game for a week straight!
As we were walking towards our dorms we noticed a sad little girl pushing another girl in a wheelchair up a steep ramp. Being the kind gentlemen we have always been we offered our assistance to the (cute) ladies and pushed them happily up the ramp to the door of their dorm. Mike and I introduced ourselves to our new friends from Enid Oklahoma. Jessica and friend in wheelchair I don’t remember were pleased to meet us and were very thankful for our help. Little did I know that the girl pushing the wheelchair would be the girl I fall in love with… but I’m not to that part of the story yet.
Later that evening we ran into Jessica and friends all around campus. I was excited to see her cause she seemed awfully flirty with me! Ever since I grew my hair out and girls started noticing me I enjoyed calling myself a ladies man but deep down I can only actually set my heart on one girl at a time and I decided this Jessica girl was that girl! For the next 3 days we were together as often as we could be! We would sneak down to the bottom so we could worship next to each other, we ate lunch together, we played frisbee together! We even went swimming together and being the macho man I am I tried to impress her by attempting a double front-flip off the diving board. Now, I’ve seen videos of myself attempting this and I have to say it was the saddest thing I have ever seen a fat kid do. Not to mention embarrassing! Good thing I was persistent though!… cause I failed over and over and over until the point of a terrible headache and a lung or 2 filled with water.
Our time together was cherished but all good things must come to an end. Our Oakie friends were leaving that night, while the rest of us were leaving the next morning. After our evening service we all went back to our small groups and, of course being MCC, we sat and ate potato chips. Mike and I decided that was stupid so we snuck off to see if we could catch Jessica before her bus left. Luckily we got there just in time to catch them in the middle of loading their luggage.
I was determined to kiss her before she left! I mean, what a story that would be to tell my kids one day! My summer at CIY kissing the prettiest girl on campus! Sounds perfect right? Wrong. I didn’t account for the fact that I am a coward when it comes to being ballsy. As she was walking away I called to her, grabbed her by the waist and stared into her eyes. Under that Colorado sky, standing in the cool grass with the dim light of a distant street lamp and the moon… I chicken out. I let her walk away from me. I was so mad at myself! Lucky for me things ended up being better than I thought cause our first kiss turned out to be much more memorable than some silly, crazy, romantic, perfect Colorado night…
Anyways, these silly Oklahoma kids weren’t allowed to bring their cell phones to CIY so I had to wait until she got back home to finally talk to her again!
Days went by and it seemed as though we had a lot more in common than I thought. We were both victims of a broken heart and were just in need of a best friend. Well now months are passing and things start to heat up between us. Texting 24/7 turned in to a couple calls every week. That turned into a nighly thing and by the end of August I guess you could say we began to fall in love!
Now I am not one to support long distance relationships so we never called what we had “official” but the two of us were ‘Single but unavailable’ if you catch my drift. For the next 2+ years we have been two crazy teenagers confused and in love (a deadly combination).
